05/21/20 WOULD HAVE, SHOULD HAVE, COULD HAVE — Are you as tired as I am of the never-ending stream of doctors, lawyers, politicians, businessmen, etc. claiming confidently, “What the President / Governor / Mayor did was dead wrong! I think we SHOULD HAVE…” OR “If only we WOULD HAVE…” OR “If we did what I suggested we COULD HAVE…”? Leaders for families, clubs, churches, teams, towns, cities, states and nations ALL have one thing in common: When unexpected things happen that nobody could have ever anticipated and no one has ever experienced before, they must make tough decisions—and they have to do something quickly! To delay is an irresponsible option. How dare the day-late-and-a-dollar-short know-it-alls and Monday-morning quarterbacks waste everyone’s time second-guessing our real leaders!?

          Years ago I saw a book with an intriguing title: “Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda—Language of Losers.” Now I know that I SHOULDA bought; if I WOULDA bought it, no telling what I COULDA done! The Bible commands us to PRAY FOR our leaders, for real. It says that their authority comes from God Himself; and to oppose their leadership is to oppose God! WOW!
