MINISTRY OBJECTIVESHe plans to continue serving the Lord and His church—based on God's calling and gifts, and his personality, passion, education, and experience—especially in any of these capacities: Full-time Pastor,  Interim Pastor,  Pulpit Supply,  and Church Consultant. He is also available for other specialty tasks including the following: Church Revitalization, Men’s Ministry, Evangelism training and emphasis, Discipleship training and emphasis, Spiritual Gifts discovery and implementation, and Biblical Worldview training.

PASTORAL EXPERIENCEHe served for more than nine years as pastor of two SBCV (Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia) churches, one a restart.

ADDITIONAL MINISTRY EXPERIENCE: He participated in international Mission Trips to Central Asia and China. He also served as a Trustee and Chairman of Trustees for the Baptist Banner. In addition he successfully completed SBCV Church Planter Basic Training and SBCV Disaster Relief Training.

EDUCATIONHe earned a BS and MS in Mathematics at Virginia Tech. He completed all doctoral work except a dissertation in Applied Mathematics at Purdue University. At Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary he earned a Master of Arts degree in Religion; he also completed all Doctor of Ministry work except for a dissertation. Finally he completed 35 hours of Master of Divinity coursework at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Most recently in 2018 he completed the online Church Consultant Certification work from Church Consultation University.

OTHER PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCEHe taught college courses in Mathematics, Statistics and Computing Technology at several colleges and universities: University of Tennessee, Truett-McConnell University, Mountain Empire Community College, University of Virginia’s College at Wise, Longwood University, Liberty University, Purdue University, and Virginia Tech. He served as Computing Technology Consultant at Home Recovery Home Health, Inc. He worked as a computing application engineer at Allen Telecom Systems and First Data Resources. Finally, for more than twenty years he worked as an Applied Mathematician and Computing Analyst at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
