05/09/20 JESUS: LOVE = OBEDIENCE—John 14:15, 21 (NIV) says, “If you love me, keep my commands… 21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them” (also John 15:10,12,17; 1 John 5:2-3; 2 John 2:6).

          It seems that Americans in general and American Christians in particular are “head over heels in love” with LOVE!? BUT NOT so much with OBEDIENCE, to anything or anyone—contracts, vows, promises, parents, teachers, law enforcement personnel, government leaders, etc. But according to the NT Scriptures and Jesus Himself, we prove and demonstrate our love for Him by OBEYING His commands. I suggest we try to “fall in love with” OBEDIENCE!
