04/19/20 PRAYER PROMISES & PROBLEMS—Most of us know that the Bible contains some
amazing prayer promises, such as: John 14:13-14 (NIV) And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father
may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it
(also John 16:23-24, etc.).
Many love to say that God ALWAYS HEARS and ANSWERS every one of our
prayers. His answers are “Yes,” “No,” or “Wait.”
But there are at least as many “prayer problem” verses as promises. Here
are some of these: Psalm 66:18 If I had cherished sin in my heart, the
Lord would not have listened; Proverbs
28:9 Anyone who turns his ear away from hearing the law—even his prayer
is detestable. See also Isaiah 1:15;
Jeremiah 7:16; 11:14; 14:11; Lamentations 3:44;
Luke 18:11,14; 1 Peter 3:7;
1 John 5:16; etc.
If
our attitude or lifestyle is not pleasing to God, He does NOT promise to hear
or answer our prayers. So, “Get Right with God,” and then take full advantage
of the incredible privilege of conversing with our hearing and
answering God!
